I'm on the fence about a pair of F1's with a few questions. I'm a DJ and would like to know how the amp stays cool for 4 to 6 hours of play. 3 to 4 hours of that is dance music at higher volumes.
Also, how do the amps hold up long term (years) without having a fan along with good circulation?
How great are these tops for your average halls with a dance floor average 24x24'?
I have heard that the C pattern is great as well for Djing.
First of all the F1's amps do get kind of but it does not seem to be an issue. When it comes to the longevity the F1's have been out since about 5 years ago and from what I have seen in the forums there have been very little amp failures. As far as 4-6 hours of play with 3-4 hours of loud dance music playback I think you would be just fine, just make sure to have a solid power source especially if you are running lights as well on the same circuit.
Were you planning on using a pair of F1 subs with the tops?
I agree to use subs! I have sold many of the f1 812 with sub. I have used them in DJ work. I have never had a failure. It seems the engineers would have put a fan on the units if they were not needed.
