Iphone connection to T8S via USB-A is not working

Trying to playback from my iPhone to Bose. Connect my iphone 6S to the T8S USB-A port and the T8S reports a "media error" on the Pref page. Is this an inherent bug/deificiency or am I missing something?

If it's not possible to playback from iphone using USB, what's the next best way? Maybe connection to channels 9 and 10 through a 3.5mm analog connection? Or a better way?  THanks!

I take it you are using some kind of USB adapter? Some people have had luck with the official Apple USB camera adapter, and others have not. From what I recall, Apple does not support USB audio, but it may work.

The notes in T4S Backing Tracks should help.

I've got an iPhone connected to the ToneMatch using a basic Lightning to USB-A cable. Apple does support audio through USB - for example, this phone has worked through USB with every automotive audio system I've connected it to. (As a side note, the ToneMatch plays audio from my MacBook through the USB-B port.) I'll read the notes you've provided, but I'm still open to suggestions from others who've already been down this road. In this day and age (and considering the premium price of Bose products) I consider audio through USB to be a basic expectation. It should just work.  Thanks

I'm sorry. I didn't read your original post carefully enough. I thought you were trying to use an Apple Lightning to USB Camera Adapter

with a USB A to USB B cable.

to the T8S USB B port.

I haven't tried that lately, but I have gotten it to work with the T1 USB B port.

I'm sorry I missed what you were saying in your original post.

The T4S USB A port supports passive media (USB drives) only.

Yes, an Apple Lightning to 3.5 mm adapter should work.

Bose engineered the T8S ToneMatch mixer to have eight full-function channels and two Auxiliary inputs. The Aux inputs 9/10 are routed directly to the Main Output. You can use the Pan and Level adjustments accessible through the PAN/AUX menu. There are no changes to routing, or signal processing available. Only T8S ToneMatch mixer channels one through eight can be routed to the Aux Outputs.

If you want more routing or signal processing options, connect to the full-function channels (1 through 😎 or use the USB B port.

Cheers.
