Almost all the new 4k media players (for example, Roku 4 and Nvdia Shield) require HDCP 2.2 and HDMI 2.0 support. However, I learned that Bose only supports HDCP 2.1.
I am wondering is it possible to add HDCP 2.2 support to Cinemate/Soundtouch 120/130 throught a firmware update in future?
If it is not possible, does anybody know wheather Roku or Shield will pass 5.1/7.1 sound through optical cable to bose console or not?
