Hi everyone, I am a mobile DJ, doing small gigs in pubs and clubs and I have just ordered the L1 Model II & B1 Bass Module. My question, or questions rather, are:-
1) Is one system suitable for this?
2) If I connect my mixer to the panel with a 2xphono to stereo jack cable, will the sound still be good stereo quality?

a) One system should be great for small to medium sized venues although you may consider adding another B1 module or better still a B2 which will enhance the bass and give you more headroom to your level (volume)

a) No, this will not work. The L1 system requires a mono signal source and does not provide stereo output, you would need 2 systems for stereo output (unecessary IMO).
I assume you are using a DJ mixer as you mentioned phono outputs, if the mixer has the ability to run in mono then use a single cable from one channel (L or R) to the power stand (if your DJ mixer has XLR or 1/4" jack outputs use one of these and a balanced lead for the best signal).
If your mixer cannot be set to a mono output and has a Pan control then set the pan all the way to the Left or Right and again connect from the L or R output only to your power stand. (Note: If your music material source is software based you may have the option to set the output signal to Mono within the software interface before it goes through your mixer, for example you can do this within VDJ).
Alternatively you can run your stereo output from your DJ mixer into a standard audio mixer and produce a single mono output from there either by the panning method or the mixers built in ability to produce a mono output. (The Bose T1 does this nicely but any PA mixer will do).

I use the top of the range Pioneer DDJ-RZX DJ Controller which has phono and XLR audio outputs. I am pretty certain I can set the audio output to one channel / mono output.
You say having 2 systems for stereo output is unneccessary in your opinion...So does that mean the mono output will give a good quality sound that people will not be able to tell the difference in sound if I had a PA with multiple speakers? Thanks again for all your help.

Then I recommend you use one of the XLR outputs to connect the L1 power stand via a good quality balanced XLR to Jack lead (a decent mic cable will work here).

Unless you have a static (eg. seated audience) in a perfect setup environment there is little advantage in setting up a stereo system but that maybe a personal preference. The way the L1 array distributes sound evenly thoughout the room makes up for this and sounds superb in mono and makes having two systems unecessary unless another is needed for extremely wide or awkward shaped rooms where one on it's own cannot cover the area.
Quality of sound is not dependant upon the choice of stereo or mono but on the reproductive quality of the sound system. You have one of the best sounding systems with multiple speakers built into the array which will compete with the best PA systems out there. I very rarely use more than one L1 system unless the situations I mentioned above apply, try it and see. I do recommend you get a B2 though, you will be even more impressed.

Since you are DJ'ing, I'd highly recommend getting a B2 to replace the B1. It turns the LIMII into a very competent DJ system while still having the flexibility to handle other needs easily. When you want the bottom end to be strong the B2 can deliver! You have a three position switch on the B2 to determine the correct bass level for the event/job.
