Hi there.
We have a problem with a ESP-880.
The installation was made 6 month ago and have played without any problems untill last week.
The ESP stops playing, the signal disappears on the input, but only some times, and not very often, but it has happen more than ones. No green lamp on the front of the ESP.
Normal signal -3/-6 db on the input meter on the ESP.
The ESP gets it signal from a digital stagebox (Yamaha digital mixer), that has an analog XLR output.
If we connects a powered speaker to the XLR output from the stagebox, there is signal, but no signal in the to the ESP?
Currently running v4.2
Do anyone know what to do?
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards

Hi !
just like to give you some information on similar problem,
I run in to the same problem yesterday with a older ESP-88, there where some different behavior after startup.
1. Startup and everything works ok, after 2-5 min an input drops out and theres no signal indication in the block on hardware or in designer, then after some more time up running another input falls out, and they never suddenly starts to work again, after hardboot of hardware the unit could work again on all inputs again for some minutes and then it starts again, or the after hardboot there is some input there are dead directly from the start.
2. Startup and some inputs are dead and no indication on hardware or software, and after 2-5 min another input drops out and then the same behavior as above.
I try to upload a blank design with no luck then upgrade to 4,3 with no luck, then I change the processorcard to start finding out where the problem was maincard, processorcard or inputcard, so after the change of processorcard everything looks to run OK I leave it with some sources playing during the night and after startup this morning signal still passing thru so it seams to sole the problem by changing processorcard.
just an update !
I also try to swap between input sources and that doesn’t help just to let you know cause I saw that in the Robs reply right now !

Rob,
Hi !
Hope you doing well,
the system is controlled by Crestron and it looks like there after upgrade to 4,3 we have loose some of the stability that we have in the system with 4,2, looks like we have to push the command 2 times for example, after sending SS1 then we need to send SS2 and then SS1 to recall the parameter for SS1.
we will tomorrow look at it again and I will update you if any news.
and also looking forward to hear from you if you have any information around this issue
Best Regards
Fritiof
Hi Mikael,
When you say the green LED disappears from the front of the ESP - is that just the ‘signal’ LED? Are the ‘Power’ and ‘Ethernet’ LEDs still lit?
What action do you take to get the audio passing again?
I see that the GPI is programmed to mute the main signal path - what is triggering that? and do you have any other external control e.g. via RS232 or over Ethernet?
You could try summing inputs 5/6 with 1/2 and if the issue should re-occur try changing the connection from inputs 1&2 to 5&6 and see if there is any kind of hardware issue with the input card…
Best regards
Rob
