Bose product name- ESP88

Country-India

Firmware Version  CSD -5.9

App Version

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce: Partner wanted to change the existing program for an old Installation. When connected to DSP, it asked for FW update. After updating to 5.9, DSP was no longer discoverable on the CSD network. After lot of efforts, we realized, DSP has taken some "Link Local" address, as there was no DHCP router. We tried a lot using SoIP, to bring back the DSP, but all in vain. We could recover it only after arranging the Router.

This has happened on two recent cases!!

For the time being, we have stopped using 5.9!! Any suggestions/comments pls..

What environment do you experience the issue in? (e.g. noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

Any troubleshooting steps you took

Hi Navin,

This is correct. A commonly requested feature for CSD networked products was to allow link local addressing when in DHCP mode without a server. Rather than default to 192.168.0.x/24. The most recent firmware updates enable this link local addressing function.

The best solution moving forward would be to set a static IP on these devices before updating firmware. But in either case, HWM will be able to see the devices as long as your PC is set to "obtain IP address automatically", as they will be on the same subnet/IP range.

Thanks,
