Have any of you L1 Compact owners ever used your L1 Compact outdoors with a large crowd of say 300-350? Or is that asking too much of this small system? Thank you for sharing any experience.
That's really pushing it. I have and love a Compact, and have heard others use them in many settings. Online, I recently saw two Compacts used outdoors for vocals in a band and it was surprisingly good, but the video was taken fairly close to the stage and it was a stage with something of a (open-sided) clamshell behind them, which helped. If you're performing more or less as background music, like I recently did at a Farmer's Market (with an L1 Model2), you could probably squeak by depending on expectations. If you're flat on the ground in the open air and the primary entertainment, I think it'd be disappointing, especially if the crowd expects to party.
I use 2 x L1mk2's with 2 B2's as FOH for crowds that big.
That would be my minimum.
