L1 Model 1 - how to know if it's dead?

My old reliable L1 system seems to have died.  Power light won't come on.  Bose sent a free replacement fuse, still no joy.

 

The B1 module, the SoundMatch module, and the tower were all in great shape.

 

Bose isn't offering to repair. It seems insane to me to bring this to the electronics disposal but I don't know what other options there are.  I can't find a base unit for sale online anywhere.

 

Any ideas for next steps?

Check the following link. There are people who will work on the early Model L1.

 

Bose does not service the units, so you are on your own in dealing with repair techs.

Last year we decided to try a Bose Compact for very small rooms and once again are super happy, even finding ourselves using the Compact for rooms larger. five guys survey
