Hi, Martin.

Welcome to the Bose Portable PA Community.  I'm sorry you are having a problem with your Model II Power Stand.

This could be due to

  • A damaged bass module cable. That's the blue cable that runs from the Power Stand to the bass module (B1 or B2).
  • Connecting a B1 and a B2 at the same time
  • Damaged or failed bass module (B1 or B2)
  • A failed connection between the Power Stand and the Cylindrical Radiator®
  • Power Stand failure

Tests

  • Remove the blue bass module cable from the Model II Power Stand
    • If the red light cycling stops then the problem is likely a damaged cable
      • Open the connector ends of the cable and look for broken wires or a short-circuit
  • Remove the Cylindrical Radiator®  (the tower) from the Model II Power Stand
    • If the red light cycling stops then the problem is likely a connection to between the Model II Power Stand  and the Cylindrical Radiator®
      • The unit will have to be serviced.
  • Leave the bass module cable connected to the Model II Power Stand  and disconnect the other end from the bass module
    • If the red light cycling stops then the problem is likely bass module
    • The bass module will have to be serviced.
  • Disconnect everything from the Model II Power Stand. Leave it unplugged for a minute. Then connect only the AC power plug. Turn the unit on.  If the red light cycling continues, the Model II Power Stand will have to be serviced.
