L1M2B2 upgrade to Pro 16?

Hello everyone,

So I've been using a L1M2B2 for a few years now and we absolutely love it. My main complaints are the separate sub, and the fold out legs. Initially I was interested in the Pro32 (assuming it was the direct competition to the L1M2) until the price was announced. I then pushed these new systems out of my mind.

Today I decided to do a bit more research and found that the Pro16 actually seems to the the direct replacement for the L1M2. The Pro 16 claims 3 db on both cont and max SPL which would be quite a bit louder all while arriving in at half the overall system weight.

Now the real question is how does it preform real world? Has anyone actually had hands on with these? I'm considering the upgrade for the footprint and weight alone but are the 16 drivers actually that much louder/efficient than the 24 from the L1M2? The new sub is rated at 1000 watts vs the old 250 which is a crazy upgrade! I never had an issue with the low end from the B2 but nice to have more headroom.

TLDR:

1. Can the 16 drivers in the Pro16 keep up with the 24 drivers in the L1M2?

2. I love the top and bottom handles on the B2, does the Pro16 have a handle on the bottom of the sub for easier transport?

Thanks,

Hey Boy_Narf,

Thank you for your post! Apologies for the delay in getting back to you - our L1 Pro 16 systems had not long been released at the time of your post, which may explain the lack of activity.

Personally, I'm yet to experience the L1 Pro 16 system in the flesh, but I hope the information on this webpage will be of use when comparing it to the legacy L1 systems.

To answer your second question: the Pro 8 & Pro 16 have carry handles at the top but not on the bottom. The base of the power stand is flat with small rubber feet to prevent slipping on hard surfaces.

Hope this helps!
