L1M2B2T1 no sound when powering on?

Hello Everyone,

Been running into an issue as of late with my L1M2B2T1. When I turn it on sometimes it produces no sound (not even the faint hiss from the tower). I have to power it down and back on for the sound to kick in. This has happened to me a few times in the past month. I'm powering it off of a Furman 6 outlet power strip. Has anyone run into this issue before? I fear the power amp/base might be on it's way out 😞

Thanks,

M~

Hi Boy_Narf!

I recommend testing the following to see if the issue persists and determine whether the L1 power stand is causing the problem:

  1. Disconnect the T1 mixer and B2 bass module from the L1.
  2. Connect the L1 power stand directly to the wall outlet, bypassing the power strip.

If the issue continues, I'd advise contacting the Bose Pro support team to discuss and troubleshoot in more detail.

Hope this helps!

Thank you I will give that a try. So since the T1 will be unplugged I should would plug something into the Analog input on the power stand to see if it still makes sound?

M~

Okay I plugged the system directly into the wall, unplugged the sub and the T1. I then plugged my drum machine into the 1/4 analog jack. It worked fine.

The trouble is this issue is this is very intermittent. Last week it happened 3 times where it would turn on and there was no hiss or sound coming out (seems even without the sub and t1 connected, the tower still hisses). The three times I've powered it up this week it has been fine.

I will be keeping it plugged directly into the wall going forward to see if it was in fact the power bar limiting power delivery.

***Edit, while being plugged into the wall I  just turned it on for a quick test and there was no sound. No hiss, no buzzing, just no sound. I plugged my drum machine into the analog input and still nothing. I had to turn it off and back on for the amp to kick in.

I also tried turning the T1 off and on again but it made no difference. I just checked on getting a repair and they are quoting me $285!!! Maybe it's worth it if I can send the entire system in for a once over. Dang. Truly disappointing as I've only owned this since 2014 (it's left the house 5 times). I've already had to send the sub in for service as it started producing a weird smell, and now the power stand is having issues.

Called support they wern't sure what else to try. Sending it in for $300 😞

Got the power stand back yesterday and everything is good! Glad we are back up and running but I'm starting to lose faith in these systems. I already had to send in the sub as it started producing a burning smell, luckily that was under warranty.
