Question is the accoustimas connectors appear to be 10 pin on the LS50 whereas the LS25 are 8 pin. Is it possible to get adaptors to make the LS 50 compatible with my LS25 accoustimas units.
I spent quite a while trying to get my head around this when I was researching a guide I made. I couldn't figure out why some systems supported Dolby Digital 5.1 and earlier models didn't, even though both were surround sound systems.
I later discovered a website https://myboserepair.com/lifestyle.htm which lists all the Lifestyle CD models. It showed me that systems like the Lifestyle 25 II had a Digital Coax input on the wire to the subwoofer (13 pin DIN)
While the previous Lifestyle 25 I did not (8 pin DIN).
As you can see the Lifestyle 50 also has a Digital Coax input (so it also has a 13-pin DIN).
Since the Lifestyle 25 series I & II both use the same receiver, the only difference is the connection to the subwoofer. So my GUESS is that you will just have to use the same subwoofer to receiver cable to make it work... but I do not know if it'll work or cause any issues.
It would be best if you either upgrade your subwoofer along with the receiver so you can listen to Dolby Digital 5.1 and use one of the suggestions in this guide to get the best out of your system. Or see if there is anyone around your area who is offering a trade-in to a new system (listed as Option 2 in this guide).

I am therefore looking to buy a second hand replacement Lifestyle 25 CD head unit, I have also seen Lifestyle 50s systems for sale.
Don't forget that the Lifestyle 50's receiver is unusual as it is in two parts (C-1 aux inputs & M-1 interface) and required a touchscreen remote for it to work which appears to be hard to find and can break easily (they are 20 years old by now).
I would recommend you look for another CD20 receiver as, aside from the changer probably needing a replacement part ( 20 years old), oh and as the Lifestyle 50 also has a 6 disc magazine, I imagine this part would also need to be replaced in the Lifestyle 50. The CD20 is all in one and uses a remote that I would think is easier to find.
I do list some universal remote replacement options in this guide that would work with either receiver.
I hope that this helps answer your question. Let us know what you end up doing 🙂
