Hello, all. Thanks in advance for any help!
During a recent move, the bass module (and only the bass module) to my Lifestyle 50 system went missing. I have been looking for a replacement bass module (Model AM30P II), but there aren't many out there that aren't part of a complete system. I would like to broaden my search to find a compatible sub.
Are any other Lifestyle bass modules compatible with the L50? For example, the L25 Series II and L30 Series II bass modules both appear to have the 13 pin digital input. Is there more going on 'under the hood,' or would these other digital 5.1 speakers with the same 13 pin input work?
Again, many thanks!

I answered a similar question in this post. From what I have been told with Bose subwoofers you should know there are three things to be concerned about.
- the Amplifier
- the Preset EQ for the speakers
- the Data Communication Protocol
So you need a sub that supports the same speakers (and amount) for the Amplifier (later lifestyle subwoofers work with all Bose speakers) and for the EQ so they sound correct (later lifestyle subwoofers have the ability to adjust their EQ via AdaptIQ, early ones like this do not). As for the Data Communication Protocol, you would have to make sure that the subwoofer supports the receiver model you wish to use with it or that it has been confirmed to work.
So you know you should only look for Lifestyle 30 / Lifestyle 50 subwoofers. Due to them both supporting 5 "Jewel Cube" speakers. You also correctly pointed out that you will need the Lifestyle 30 series II subwoofer and not the Lifestyle 30 series I due to the connections (though I would guess that either sub would work with the receiver, you would just use Dolby Digital 5.1 support).
But you are in luck as it seems that BOTH the Lifestyle 30 II and the Lifestyle 50 use the same "AM30P Series II Digital Base Module".
If you purchase a Lifestyle 30 II subwoofer and set it up, according to what I am seeing from myboserepair.com, it should be fine as they are both the same model number.
I would also check out this guide to help set up your Lifestyle CD receiver with modern HDTV's. Though I would suggest you look into "option 4" and see if you can either trade in your system or purchase an updated Bose subwoofer and receiver to work with your existing cube speakers.
I hope that helps answer your question. Let us know what you end up doing 🙂
