Loose Headphone Jack - Bose QC35II

Bose QC35 II Problem

Is the 2.5mm audio jack supposed to be this loose? I remember it having such a perfect tight fit when I first got it. I never did any aggressive maneuvers or anything to damage it.

Now when I have my adapter plugged in, it twists so easily with just the slightest touch or even just moving my head quickly, and allows it to fall out and unplug.

Here's a video of how loose it feels:

Is this normal?

I attach an adapter to use with my external microphone and it's impossible to use because even if I tilt my head slightly or move the wire or the mic, the audio plug loosens from the cable jack in the headphones.

Does this need to be brought in for repair? For such quality headphones, I expect the audio jack to have a consistent snug fit for my headphone cable.

Let me know, thank you.

Hi BeFourMaxine,

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Community!

Thank you as well for sharing that video, it's really helpful for us to be able to see what is happening! It does seem like the adapter is loose in the jack port on the headphones, but it isn't necessarily loose because anything is wrong with the connector on the headphones. It's possible the shape of the adapter is stopping it from plugging all the way in correctly.

Do you still have the original audio cable? If you were to plug the original audio cable into the headphones would this fit securely, or would it also be loose? If the original cable is also loose it would let you know that the port on the headset is what's causing the AUX connections to be loose. If the headsets port is loose, then you will need to reach out to your local support team to discuss service options for the headphones. You can find the contact information at this link, by selecting your country/region and then the 'Contact Us' option at the bottom of the page.

If the original cable still fits securely then the adapter is not connecting to the headphones correctly. This is likely due to the shape stopping the jack plug from sitting in the headphones correctly but it might be due to issues with the adapters jack connection as well.

I hope this helps, let me know!

Hi there,

Thank you so much for the response. Yes, the original cable is just as loose as the adapter. It inserts and can be pulled out with the lightest touch. Something's up with the port.

Thanks for getting back in touch.

From what you have described, yes, it appears to be an issue with the port so service would be recommended. Please visit the link provided by Keith above.

Thanks!

Hello,

I have the same issue with my MIC port. How do I file a claim?

I tried to start a ticket online but my serial number states online support is not available.

I also tried the texting option and I got no response back whatsoever.

Why is it so difficult to get some proper service?

Thanks.

Hi Dinorider21,

So sorry that you are having difficulty reaching out to your local support. What is your country of residence, I will happily point you in the right direction 😊
