Hi, is there a T1 Tonematch patch for the Fishman MX-T pickup, or is there one that is recommended? After owning Gibsons all my life I bought this Martin to gig with and I have never had this type of pickup. Thank you.
Hi agr 1959,
There have been no new presets introduced since the Martin came out. I am not looking at a list of T1 presets, but makes no difference, the same pickup in a different guitar will likely sound different anyway.
I use a variety of guitars with different pickups with my T1 and almost always use a Taylor preset, not always the same one.
I would suggest you cycle through a few different presets with tone controls set flat. When you hear one that sounds promising tweak it to suit.
Let us know how you like your new guitar. I've been curious about it's since introduction, but haven't seen or played one.
O..
Hi Sorry for the delay on my end in responding.
Since I got the Martin, I have been using the Gibson Songwriter preset. I didn't realize I hadn't changed it since I got the new guitar. It is the setting I've been using for ages for my Gibson Hummingbird. I love it on that setting, and I get a lot of compliments from other acoustic players on the quality of the sound. Just for the heck of it, I will try some others.
As for the guitar itself, I have now done about 15 gigs with it and love it! The playability is fantastic - and as mentioned above the sound quality, too. I have major hand issues and playing acoustic leads all night is grinding. Because of COVID and the lack of venues for full bands, all of my gigs are acoustic duos and trios. The Martin is very easy to play and I love being able to go further up the neck when needed.
I have a Fender Telecaster Acoustasonic that I bought when they first came out. It has served me well until recently. It started dying during gigs. I took it to my very dependable guitar shop that I've been using for years. I thought it was going to be a quick battery replace or something simple. It has been in the shop now for over a month waiting for power supply parts from Fender. Very frustrating.
Thank you again for the info and quick reply.
