Matching S1 settings on a T4S

I really like the sound when plugged direct to S1 Pro.  I use vocal mic in channel 1 with reverb, treble and bass ALL at 12 o’clock with the mic Tonematch setting.  Guitar in channel 2 with the reverb, treble and bass ALL at 12 o’clock with the guitar Tonematch setting.  This is good for solo gigs.  When I play out as duo I have a T4S mixer to get more inputs. How can a set the T4S to match the same sound that I am getting from the S1?

There is no direct equivalent of the S1 Pro reverb in the T4S, but in a duo situation, I would use much less reverb anyway.  When you have two voices and two guitars, you want more clarity and less ambiance.

However, if you really want to get the same sound you can do this.

T4S settings

Vocal One - Pan RIGHT
Guitar One - Pan LEFT

Vocal Two - Pan RIGHT
Guitar Two - Pan LEFT

ToneMatch Presets on all four channels set to

Category: Utility
Preset: Flat

Start with zEQ on all channels Bypassed

Set Reverb on all channels to Mute

S1 Pro Connections and Settings

Connect the T4S RIGHT output to S1 Pro channel 1.
Set the ToneMatch switch to MIC
Set the Volume at 10 o'clock (not 12:00 o'clock)
Set the Bass and Treble and Reverb to 12:00 o'clock

Connect the T4S LEFT output to S1 Pro channel 2.
Set the ToneMatch switch to GUITAR
Set the Volume at 10 o'clock (not 12:00 o'clock)
Set the Bass and Treble and Reverb to 12:00 o'clock

Thanks for the reply.  As a duo we use 3 total S1 units.  2 on the floor and one directed as us as a monitor.  I was hoping that there was a way to set up the multitude of eq/effects options on the t4s to match the presets of the S1 (for example:  use Handheld mic Tonematch, with large reverb at 30, etc).  That would allow us to both “share” the stage monitor.  Currently I have all the speakers set up with the main mix (daisy chained together).

The T4S ToneMatch Presets that are closest to what you have on the S1 Pro are:

MIC

Category: Vocal Mics
Preset: Handheld Mics

GUITAR

Category: Acoustic Guitars
Preset: Steel String /w Piezo

You'll have to find your reverb settings by ear.

You can send the T4S main outputs (left and right) to two of the S1 Pro systems, and the T4S Aux 1 output for the monitor.

I like this question!  The S1 has one Reverb control....as do many mixers.   The Tone Match 1 Has "Global Reverb" which includes Plate, Small, Med, Large, and Cavern.   THEN>>>>>>>>you have to choose "Time and Balance".......THEN you can isolate each channel and choose "Mix and Bright"........         TOO many choices to "Find it by ear".....IMO   I get what he is asking and I agree!  IS the S1 Plate, small, large, ???  Someone should know

Setting the reverb for live sound is an exercise of doing it by ear.  I wouldn't use the same reverb setting in every situation. Generally speaking, the larger the room, the less reverb I would use. However, there are lots of factors to consider when using reverb. Reverb usually lowers intelligibility. Intelligibility is important for spoken word, less so for lyrics, and even less important for background instrumentals.

I would use different settings for reverb depending on how many S1 Pro systems I was running, and how I was using them.

Bose engineered the reverb in the S1 Pro system to be a useful general-purpose tool for a solo performer in venues suitable for up to 50 people. It is similar to (but not the same as) the Medium reverb in the T1 and T4S/T8S ToneMatch mixers.

There is no direct mapping of the S1 Pro system Reverb to the T1 ToneMatch Audio Engine or T4S/T8S ToneMatch® Mixers.
