I'm going to experiment singing with backing tracks along with my guitar. I have the MP3's without vocals on my Samsung S8. Should I use a stereo ring tip sleeve cable and if so can I plug it into any of the four channels or the input on the base? I plugged a mano Jack into an old phone and it burned out the input connector. Of the phone that is. I was told a mono plug creates a short circuit. What's the best way play a file from a phone through the system? Thank you.

Hi WSS,
The analog input on the Model II Power Stand is mono and the connection is balanced. Don't connect a stereo signal (1/4 inch (6.3 mm) Tip-Ring-Sleeve) to this input. It won't work.
