I am unable to Mute Alexa through my soundbar.
Hey Aviraj,
Thanks for posting.
Can I please ask for more information? What soundbar do you have, what command are you using, are you trying to mute audio Alexa is playing or TV audio? The more information I have the better I can help. 😊
I am using Soundbar 700 to be specific Bose Soundbar 700😄, there is a mute button on the soundbar to be specific on the top of the soundbar which is not functioning currently, i.e.. the mute function is not working when trying to mute Alexa through that provided button, is it tht the touch sensation of that particular button is not working. Also can you help me with what is the latest update for tht is 10.0.11 firmware which got updated just 2 days back
, I understand! This button is not for muting audio, but does turn off the microphone. This means that your soundbar will no longer hear you when you speak to your voice assistant. In regards to the update, we recently identified an issue that would impact the ability of Bose Smart Speakers and Soundbars to receive future updates. On March 2, we distributed an update to all registered products to address that issue.
Please understand I am talking about the same microphone button tht is not functioning even though I touch tht button voice command still active and takes command from us. Hope now u understand my problem
Thanks for clarifying that for us Aviraj!
When you press the button on the soundbar, does the red light that shows the microphone is muted turn on? This light is just below the mute button, on the front of the soundbar.
What I would recommend doing to start with is a reset of the soundbar. To perform a reset, disconnect the soundbar from the power for at least 30 seconds, then plug it back in and allow it to power on fully. Once the white light on the front of the soundbar stops blinking, try muting the microphone and let me know how you get on!
