NC 700 Microphone not working properly - horrible sound on Macbook Air but fine on phone

Headphones purchased in June, never left my desk.

Two days ago colleagues started complaining of horrible screeching/fuzzy sound from my headphones on microsoft teams and zoom.

Music plays fine from my computer (although cuts in and out because these headphones are garbage)

Microphone works on my Iphone zoom.

OTHER headphones (bose bluetooth and plug in) work fine on computer, so it isn't a computer issue.

I've reset the headphones (apparently) - I've disconnected all devices and reconnected multiple times.

The headphones are up to date.

What else can I do?

This is my second purchase from BOSE and will absolutely be my last. I've never been one to complain about products but this is just unbelievable. I am a university professor and need a good microphone with online teaching - this is by far the most disappointing thing I've purchased during the pandemic. What an absolute shock.

There might be several layers to your issue I think.

One thing you can try is to try to record audio clip straight from Bose 700 to Macbook Air to see what's the sound quality. If the sound quality is good/ok, then the issue is likely not from the headphone Bose 700.

Several other possibilities--

1) Internet issue from your end vs their side

2) Different video conference platiform compress/transmit it differently

3) their speaker/headphone sucks or their Bluetooth connection sucks

Hey there!

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing some issues with your headphones, I'll be happy to help!

has some really great points and would recommend giving these a go.

I would also suggest clearing the pairing list on the headphones by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds. You should also delete the pairing on your laptop and reconnect like a new connection.

Let me know how you get on!

Looking great work dear, I really appreciated to you on this quality work. Nice post!!

Hi,

Did you resolve this issue? I am facing the exact same problem with my microphone!!

Hey , thanks for joining the discussion.

Sorry to hear you're having this issue with your microphone also. Have you had a chance to go through the steps previously mentioned in this thread?

I'm having the same problem.  When I connect my headphones to my Android phone, people can hear me fine without any issues.  When I connect to my ThinkPad people complain that there's Clicking and horrible sounds when I am done talking.  I've done all of the things listed in this post, including sending my headset back to you and getting a new pair as I was told by your support that it could have been a bad pair of headphones.  I still have the same issue and just don't use it for work anymore, which is the main reason I purchased these.  I don't hear the issue on my side but it's other people that hear it.  It's not just one person so it's not on their end.  It happens with MS Teams Video calls and Zoom Calls.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing, Bekaj74.

Have you been able to update the firmware of the headphone? You can do this by heading to the LINK HERE on a laptop or PC and following the on-screen instructions.

Yes, I have updated the firmware on my headphones.  It's been up to date but I just double checked.

Thank you so much for responding .

In order to gain a better understanding of your issue, can you tell me which version of the ThinkPad you have?

I look forward to hearing from you!
