November 17th, 2020 - Smart Speaker Firmware Update

On November 17th, we are releasing new firmware for Bose Smart Speakers and Soundbars. This update can be made through the Bose Music App.  

 

Firmware Versions:
Soundbar 500/700 & Home Speaker 450/500: 10.0.10

Smart Soundbar 300: 3.0.10

Portable Home Speaker & Home Speaker 300: 7.0.10

 

Release Notes and Features:

  • Alexa Calling and Messaging allows users to communicate with friends and family using their Alexa-enabled Bose Smart Speaker or Soundbar.

    Through this feature, you can use Alexa to:
    • Activate a two-way intercom, also known as “Drop In”.
    • Send voice messages to other Alexa-enabled devices.
    • And even call other people’s phones or Alexa-enabled devices.

 

Bug Fixes and Enhancements:

  • SympleSync™ improvements with QuietComfort 35 Series II.
  • General bug fixes and stability improvements.

Hi, acoording the app my soundbar 700 is updating but there are no led lights showing. It is going on for about 1 hour now. How long can it take? And why are there no lights showing?

Same thing over here with Smart Soundbar 300...now over 2 hours with no lights on Soundbar and app says installing update

When I open the Bose Music app, I don’t see an update anywhere?

When the app opens and there are tabs at the top of the screen for Presets, Home, etc., Click the left/back arrow and you will see the icon of the Soundbar product and it will say 'preparing update' or 'installing update'

Same thing here. I open the app and try to get to my Soundbar 700 and it just says almost finished we’re installing an update on Bose soundbar 700. This should only take a few minutes. 

It’s stuck in that state. The sound bar still works l, is not giving any indication it’s updating and because of this “error” it won’t let me access any of the sound at settings. 

I feel Bose has put out a bad or corrupt update.

HDMI/ARC ISSUE FIXED?

I have same issue as well because its been updating for hours for my Soundbar 700 and home theater system

 

Its really weird that such a high-end brand has such bug issues with software and numerous other issues.

 

Nonetheless, music quality is the best, but you should really fix these software problems

Also having the same issue for a few hours now. the app message says update should only take a few minutes but the app remains unusable - no access to the soundbar 700 or music, radio etc. The soundbar is still working through the tv and bluetooth music.

What's happening Bose?

Same issue for my soundbar 700. Said almost finish updating since last night. My Soundbar 500 is ok though. Bose, how do we resolve this?
