Just as a point of reference, I ordered the L1 Pro 8 Slip Cover (for the base unit) from Sweetwater on 12/4 and it arrived today. Not sure what the reason for shipping delays from Bose on these is. Also, it's not padded but fits nicely, seems well-made and is better than having nothing when storing or transporting the L1 Pro.
Hey jdpuentejr,
I recommend contacting the Bose support team directly to check the status of your order.
I ordered my Pro16 and bag several months ago, system was in stock at GC, bag was on back order.
I picked up the bag yesterday, and here's pics.
Seems to be very well done, happy I got it. To this old bad back, it's very HEAVY loaded up, completely thanks to the bass/sub. I'll be leaning it in and out of my truck, hope I never have to dead lift it!
Well.. I changed my mind.
I decided that the All-One-Trip Bose Rolling Case for the Pro-16 was just too bulky for my taste, back, and use. Transporting the tower and extension in the same bag as the base amp, thus in one trip, is just not my objective any more. It was not just the weight, as the tower and extension are not what's heavy in this package - it just makes the case too big and bulky overall. It barely fits in my truck with the tonneau cover closed, and I have a good size pickup. I have always liked Gator cases and bags so I looked there first.
The Gator GPA-715 case is a rolling bag with telescopic handle, for a large profile 15-inch speaker cabinet. It is lightweight but well padded with a hard top and bottom, extra bottom pads, and a side zip pocket for power cable, just a few inches taller than the Pro-16 base unit, which suits me much better. The width and depth dimensions fit the 16 nicely. I have not decided whether to supplement with a sheet of foam rubber. I don't play out at gigs much anymore so I'll start out without extra foam.
Big yay for my new friend Billy at GC for allowing me to return the Bose bag with no hassle. The Gator is a buck-twenty less than the Bose bag.
The speaker column will travel in an old(new) bag from my L1 Classic days - fits perfectly. The little extension will go.. somewhere :-}
This will work better for me.
do the 16's come with a bag for the columns? I have the 8's which came with a bag for the columns and I just ordered the 16's so I'm curious if they come with a bag for the column array.
Hey Joe!
The L1 Pro16 comes with a carry bag for the speaker array and extension included in the box.
Hey Dylan - MY Pro16 did NOT come with a carry bag for the speaker column and extension. Is calling the support 800 # the best way to look into this?
Thanks, Mike
Hey - you guys may have seen a previous post (just deleted) where I came down hard on Bose Support about this Pro 16 speaker carry bag. I retract, not because I was wrong (I wasn't), but because Dylan here escalated the issue with a follow-up call from Luke in product support. Long story short, Luke will send me the speaker bag as soon as they are individually available, and I am very pleased with this treatment.
Now, THIS.. IS.. Bose Support! Bravo Guys!
