I have a new Soundbar 700 and have set it up OK with the Bose Music App on Android mobile phone. However, I am having trouble adding Spotify as a Music Service
I go into the menu under Account Settings -> Manage Music Services -> Add New Service.
Spotify appears in the list as does Amazon Music and deezer. When I tap on Spotify nothing happens. I have a Spotify subscription. I have seen the youtube video for adding Spotify and it should open up the account authorisation.
I have reinstalled both Spotify and Bose Music apps on my phone but no change.
Hello Valhalla,
Thanks for reaching out, I am very sorry to hear that you are having this experience. We would like to do what we can to help.
Can you please inform us of your country of residence? I'd like to just confirm whether or not this feature is available within your region 😊
I look forward to hearing from you!
Hi Tegan_M
I am in Australia
Why would there be country restrictions on linking to spotify or deezer or Amazon Music? I have a paid spotify subscription
Thanks for confirming this. Spotify integration is available in your region, so lets do some troubleshooting to try and resolve this.
What do you see in the Bose Music app when you try to select Spotify? Are you able to click either of the other options and this takes you through to adding?
I have had the same problem here in America.
-using Bose portable home speaker.
-using samsung galaxy s10
when i get to manage music services in the app, and click "Add new service" it takes me to the screen with -amazon music....-iheart radio...and -spotify.....nothing on this page is clickable
can not do anything other than back out of that page.
also when trying to set up alexa after I click "sign into amazon account" it just spins forever, never connecting.
i can set up google assistant but when using voice prompts to play music on spotify, it says i have to set up the account through bose music app...which is useless, as I explained above.
please help I don't want to have to try to return this $400 speaker
i have uninstalled the app and reinstalled
I have also reset the speaker to factory settings and went through setup process at least 5 times always with same outcome.
Hey and
It may be the internet browser on your Android phone blocking the page from opening the login section as a new "window". To enable this function, can you try the following:
- Open Chrome on your phone
- Press the "Settings" button on the top-right of the screen. This button looks like three vertical buttons.
- Press "Settings"
- Press "Site Settings"
- Press "Pop-ups and redirects"
- Toggle the on/off button on the top-right of the screen to alter this.
Following this, re-launch the Bose Music app, and attempt to connect your Spotify account once again.
Hi Andy_B
This worked when I installed Chrome on my phone. I do not normally use Chrome and had uninstalled it. Chrome needs to be added as a dependency on the install instructions or when the Bose Music app is installed, or allow other browsers to be used.
Sadly when it did work the Spotify features where less than the Android Spotify app so I am better off using the "play on connected device" feature.
Thanks for providing the prompt solution.
Meh, just add this dependency info to right to the app, please.
Otherwise, it seems totally useless.
Image the situation you open the app, want to add music service but it doesn't matter how hard you try, where you try to tap it does just nothing.
It just MUST NOT rely on it only..OR at least tell the user what is wrong (some error message is sometimes better than nothing). Well, if that's not the most loveable "Something went wrong" like.
Just go and tell your R&D or UX dep. to make something about this.
Thank you!
This solved my problem!
