Question on Bose S1 Pro Settings

I am using a Soundcraft Notepad 8FX with my Bose S1 Pro and I am really loving the sound.  I am using it as a live streaming setup so I am also using the Soundcrafts USB to my iPhone to stream.  My question is this.  I have my channel and main volume on the Soundcraft set to Unity.  Then I simply turn the Bose up to the required volume.  Is that the right way to run the volume or do I want to set the S1 Pro at a volume and then adjust the main volume on the Soundcraft?  I have been adjusting the volume at the Bose because I think that is the best board setting for sending a signal to the iPhone for a stream.  Hopefully this makes sense.  If you have any suggestions or if I am approaching this the wrong way I would certainly love some lessons and suggestions!

Hello justshane,

As long as you are getting great sound, and the channel indicators are not constant red while you are playing loud passages, you're just fine.  Constant green is ideal, occasional flickers of red are fine, but constant red will probably overdrive and/or distort your sound.

If, on the other hand, you never reach constant green, you can probably add more volume from your Soundcraft mixer.  If you're running on battery, the tradeoff is the louder you play your S1 Pro, the shorter the run time.  If you're not running on battery, and your current volume is sufficient, I'd probably leave it just as you have it!

Does that help?
