QuietComfort ear buds - failing

I have a pair of Bose QuietComfort earbuds. On 3 occasions now they have failed where one or the other earbud has no light on it when you open the case. The other earbud has a solid white light and does not connect to bluetooth.

This has happened after charging the case, i.e. the case is fully charged (5 white lights on the front) and the earbud has been charging with it.

No amount of "holding down the bluetooth button for 30seconds" corrects the issue.

On the two previous occasions I put the case on charge again overnight - and it was working again in the morning.
