Hi ...
Sometimes when my laptop isn't available, I'd like to be able to take the line out from my Mixer at a gig or practice session & record that directly to my Android Phone which is a Huawei P30 Pro.
What would be the best way to connect that? I could record the Audio on my Phone either in Wav format or lower quality depending on my requirement.
Any ideas ??
What make/model mixer do you have? Most have some sort of RCA out jacks that you could get an adapter cord for going from RCA to a mini jack into your phone. That would be the easiest. You will have to keep in mind how you’ve panned the input channels as you might get sound from just one side.
My Mixer has both RCA Quarter Inch Jack Outputs.
But my Android Phone only has a USB-C port. No 3.5mm jack.
So I'll have to pick up a DAC that does USB-C to 3.5mm conversion. But they've all mentioned it'll work for headphones. No one's mentioned it'll work for inputs too.
I'd like to get the best quality signal into my phone from the Mixer.

Most (almost all) phones that have a TRRS in/out for headphone/mic ... Their Input level expects a mic level signal. The line level going in would prove way too hot & would heavily distort.
Hmmmm ... With so many people having phones, I would've thought a solution with an attenuator to provide a line-level signal would be available
Hi... I used to use this cable to input line level audio into my headphone jack. It attenuates a mic signal. But now I have a new phone without the headphone jack and just USB C like you. https://www.headsetbuddy.com/line-level-audio-input-adapter-for-iphone-smartphones/
Haven't found anything compatible yet. But if we could find USB C adapter that allowed for mic input you could also use this cable to transform it to line Level. Let me know if you find something. Thx!
I have the same line-in headset buddy and just got a new phone without a 3.5 Jack so I'm having the same trouble as you. I've been using the record out from my mixer to stream live on Facebook and twitch with the line-in headset buddy. tried 3 different adapters and so far nothing works. When I first wrote into headset buddy company they told me that their USB C adapter would work. I ordered one and it didn't work for inputting audio. I just wrote back to them and they told me it should have worked. I'll let you know what they say but if anyone finds a solution please let me know. Also we should start a campaign to ask headset buddy to make a line in adapter that works with USB C. Thx!
Hey i am wondering did yous find a solution as im struggling to figure out a way of recording a line in to my P 40 without a headphone jack. Only an idiot would design a phone without a headphone jack. Good phone except for the idiots who thought this was a good idea what a carry on!!!
