I want to record into my mac on garageband. But can see how to mute the audio in the room as the tower system is powering the mixing deck.
Is there a way to mute the speakers to only hear through headphones through the mac still allowing the master volumes to be up so level are correct. Or do i have to buya power direct power supply to do this
If you have a T4S or T8S you can use the headphone jack independent of the master volume. You can also record via USB and again, the recording levels are independent of the master volume. See T4S USB to PC
I'm not sure of the model but im guessing T1 I''m afraid as I know that I is no headphone socket on it as I was scanning for them the other day.
What it is it. I have the mixer only and bought a power supply and record this way and trying to show my friend who has the whole system. I got so far then struggled and she didn't have a volume on her bass (as I don't really know the full system) to lower the system and thought there may be way round It. But as suspected you answered what I had already guessed and Ive sent her a link for the power supply stocks in the UK. Thank you so much for you response. Great to know.
Saying that we do have in preferences Usb to PC.
So if we select that and choose left and set to her mic channel 1 then the same with right . That stops the master going to speakers ?? is that correct.
Sorry Or set both left and right to go to usb and then turn master down etc ?
If you have a T1, the USB output is controlled by the Master volume. If you have an L1 connected to a T1, the USB output and volume to the L1 are both controlled by the Master volume.

If you've got a T1, the sound will always go to L1 loudspeaker. You can't disable the link.
Ok, we've confirmed we have the T1 with no headphone socket but we've found the solution. In preferences we can select the USB to PC option so that the signal sent to USB left and right is Channel 1 (The channel we are using for our mic), then we can turn the master output to zero, so no sound is coming from the tower system. The output to USB is controlled by channel 1 Trim and channel 1 volume.
With Garageband set up so that input is set to Bose USB and output set to headphone socket we can then monitor the mic via Garageband and also any other tracks on Garageband.
You could also use the aux channel in a similar way and send an aux mix to the USB output of the Bose and still be able to turn the master to zero to silence the tower.
