I will be DJing a wedding on a boat in a couple weeks and when I met with the boat venue, they said they need to hook into my system so the sound will go through their whole boat system.
Being I will have no room for anything except a small table and the compact, is there a way to run out of the compact so what ever sound goes out of it (music and mic) to hook into their system. They said they have a 1/8 inch plug so I will have to get some sort of link to the 1/8 inch plug.
This will be a very short event so I was going to bypass everything except laptop and compact while hooking my mic into the compact also.
Thank you in advance for helping me figure this out.
Hi Karl,
On the back of the Compact there are two line outputs. One is ¼ inch jack and the other is a pair of RCA jacks. You can use any of them.

In this case I would use the RCA outputs. The conversion cable from RCA to ⅛ inch jack is very common.

Does that help?
So I would need a RCA into a female 1/8 inch for them to plug into correct? And that would put all sound from the compact into their house system on the boat?
I am a DJ and a very novice sound tech guy. lol
Thank you for the help.
Hi Karl,
If they have a cord with a ⅛ stereo jack (male) on the end of it (something they could plug into the headphone jack of an iPOD), then you probably need one of these:

And yes, if you use the RCA connection, you will get all of the sound (Compact Channels 1 and 2).
Did I answer your question?
Yes, that is what they have. Just a male 1/8 inch plug.
Thank you so much. I believe you answered it perfectly.
I think I have one of those already.
