Settings for L1M1 Base

Hi,

When I want to get the most out of my L1M1 2 B1 volume wise, if I am going into Channel 3 on the base from T1, what is the max you would set the channel 3 gain at?

I have been told not higher than 4.

I have been reading a lot of posts about how large of a group can be satisfied by one L1M1 w/ 2 B1s, and I’d like to know what the max I can safely go is?

thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

The recommendation from MikeZ-at-Bose (engineer on the T1®) is to set Model I or Classic Channel 3 or 4 at 3 (three).

Reference: Power Stand Input Setting

You can set it higher if you like - but “3” allows you to turn up the volume all the way on the T1® without clipping the input on the Power Stand.

If you don’t turn up the T1® to the maximum, you can turn up the Power Stand higher. Note: Higher you turn up the Power Stand the greater the likelihood that you will be amplifying any line noise that you pick up between the T1® and the Power Stand. You can alleviate this issue by turning up the T1® and leaving the Power Stand at 3.

You won’t damage the L1® if you turn up the Channel 3 or 4 input level higher than 3. You just increase the likelihood of audible distortion. If you can hear distortion, then turn down the level on the Power Stand.
