Should I sell my B1's or keep them?

I’m telling you Lou that Ahpex unit is the way to go…

I agree. You know how every once in a while you buy a new piece of gear that you just know it was a great purchase. Well last month it was 2 B2s and one week later an Aphex. Now I have great bass again and I can tweek it too. I couldn’t do that with 4 B1s.

I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned but we now get more volume out the the L1s. The B1s just didn’t bring the volume all those years.

More volume from the columns?

Yes Greg I noticed that too. When the B2 is in the position the L1 is louder than ever! I do not understand it, but it is 100% true.

Hi jdbass, about the increase in volume from the L1`s............... apparently when you use the switch on the B2 in 2 you are switching off the system limiters on the L1 (4 wire cable sensing circuit) incorperated in the leads!! As tested by "ST". Not sure but this could lead to overdriven amplifiers (overheat or blown drive units) and in long term the system may fail. BOSE only recomend Middle Setting on B2 when used on L1 Modle 1 classics ect.

Hope this helps.

That happens when you put the B2 Bass Level switch in the - (minus) position.

This particular setting triggers an unanticpated result: It puts the Classic/Model I bass system into a diagnostic mode that is running without the Bose B1 EQ optimization, without the low pass filtering and WITHOUT the system limiter or speaker protection. This may not cause any harm, but there is no reason to do it.
