Sound touch lifestyle 525 series III - Upgrade

I have sound touch lifestyle 525 series III, I know that 525 series III does not have built-in Bluetooth.

but i want to play music via airplay and also take advantage of the airplay II that is coming. how do I go about?

have done research on the forum and have the following questions 

1)  Upgrading to SoundTouch adapter II or SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter,  from the answer https://community.bose.com/t5/SoundTouch-Archive/Can-t-connect-bluetooth-Lifestyle-525-Series-III-and-Iphone-6s/m-p/17413#M14249 i assume NO. am i correct?

2) Apple TV  , directly connecting it to TV and then routing the audio output to the central console? or can i connect the Apple TV directly to the central console?

3)or is there a better and easier option

Thank you for the post. To use your system with Airplay, an Apple TV may be the best option at this time. Although the SoundTouch Wireless Link adapter may work with Airplay 2, we currently don't have a timetable for implementation or additional information other than what is posted on the thread HERE. An Apple TV, however,  should be able to work with Airplay right now. Depending on which version of the Apple TV you purchase, it may be worthwhile to contact Apple to see if it will be compatible with Airplay 2. Please let us know if you have any other questions!
