Hello all.
I am totally new to Bose products and I must say, for a company trading on it’s high end quality reputation, I am quite disapointed.
I have had a soundtouch 10 for three days and I have not been able to connect it to my home network for 2 days. The whole idea of these systems is to be able to comnnect all over the house with ease? Not so I am afraid. The first day the system connected straight out of the box, no issues. After that, when I try to re-connect through the soundtouch application, The connection just times out and it wont connect. I have tried un-installing the application, unplugging the soundtouch, but it simply will not connect.
This seems to be a problem with other users too as I have seen other people complaining of this.
I have tried all of the fixes suggested, re-set router, re-set the soundtouch, check firewall settings etc, etc, but nothing works. Does anyone else have something I can try?
Like I say, for an expensive quality product, this is not what I would expect from a manufacture like bose.
Please can someone help.
Many thanks
Simon
HI SR1,
I am sorry to hear that your SoundTouch 10 speaker is having trouble connecting to yout network and would like to help. It sounds like you have reset the speaker and router already which did not help. There are a few things I would recommend checking first.
I would recommend checking the RSSI signal strength you are receiving on the speaker to make sure it’s better than poor or fair signal strength. If you are receiving a poor or fair RSSI signal try moving the speaker closer to the router to test. To check please use the following steps:
1. On your computer, tablet, or smartphone, launch the SoundTouch app
2.Click EXPLORE > SETTINGS > About
3.Click on the name of the system whose received signal strength you’d like to view
4.The received signal strength will be listed as RSSI Signal Strength
If you have a dual band router make sure the speaker and your mobile device running the app are on the same 2.4ghz or 5ghz band to be able to communicate properly. Another possibility is something near the speaker causing interference. Moving the speaker can sometimes help if it’s just getting interference from another device near it.
If this does not help, can I please get the make and model number of the router you are using with the speaker?
Best Regard
Shawn
