Soundtouch 10 / soundtouch indicator blinking amber

hello,

has anybody experienced same problems:

-bought a ST10 couple of days ago and tried to connect it to existing app where i have ST 20 already.

it connected, downloaded update, i even renamed it, but in 30 seconds soundtouch indicator started blinking amber. can not do anything with it, all buttons on device/remote/ in the app were dead.

what i tried:

-rebooting router by disconnecting power from the router for 30 seconds.

-rebooting ST10 with pressing "1" and "vol-"

-downloaded app to android phone and tried from there

-downloaded "update.stu" and tried to install it simultaniously pressing "4" and "vol-"

After each and every of above, the ST10 gets alive for 30 seconds, but then soundtouch indicator starts blinking amber again.

during these periods of "30-sec life", i could not get any music from dynamic neither thru wi-fi, nor with bluetooth and not even connecting via 3,5mm jack! 30 seconds of silence with hardly-hearable buzz and then back to blinking amber. The ST20 is fine and working at the same time!( i've been trying to connect this ST10 both with ST20 playing and disconnected/plugged out...)

just a guess from my side: is there any "region-protection" on products?(i bought the device in finland but trying to connect it in russia).

thanks in advance for any ideas!

regards

Mart

Hi Mart,

Thank you for taking the time to post and welcome to the Community!

I'm sorry to hear of the issues you are experiencing with setting up your SoundTouch 10. I can imagine how frustrating this must be for you and I will do all I can to assist you!

If the SoundTouch LED is blinking amber, it is waiting for a signal and doesn't normally suggest there is an issue with the system.

Make sure you have the correct device selected in the App before you play music to it. Click the banner at the bottom of the app with the name of your speaker and swipe left or right until you are on the right one. Press the little down arrow in the top left of the screen. Then click the 3 lines in the top left > TuneIn > and select a radio station to test.

Let me know how you get on!

Kindest,

thanks Jessie

of course i choose correct name of speaker, i did select a radio station to test as well as music from phone via bluetooth and even via 3,5mm jack. every time after 30 seconds of "connection" with no sound signal the soundtouch indicator starts blinking amber and all buttons on device and remote are dead. i can bring it back to life only by unplugging/plugging.

any other ideas please?

Hello martoohan,

Thank you for getting back to us.

Have you tried to remove the batteries from the remote control then tried to attempt to use the built-in buttons? I understand that you mentioned both the buttons on the device and remote are not responding, but I am wondering if maybe there is a fault with the remote, constant commands could be sent from the remote causing the built-in buttons to not respond. If this theory is correct, removing the batteries from the remote will prevent 'phantom' commands from being sent. Again, this is just a theory and may not be the cause at all. If this issue persists, it could even be a stuck button on the top of the speaker.

The LED on the SoundTouch icon should pulse white when attempting to connect to a device, and flash orange when it fails to establish a connection with the source. It should not be flashing when using AUX or Bluetooth.

In any case, this is not normal functionality so I would recommend reaching out to support in your country to discuss service by following this link

I finally managed to solve the problem! The solution appeared to be rather simple: i returned the speaker to the shop and got another speaker which is ok and working! Thanks support!
