You’ll be able to control your speakers from your iOS control center. Just touch and hold the audio card in the top-right corner, then tap the Airplay 2 icon. You can also control directly from some of your favorite streaming services.
SiriusXM (SXM) stability improvements and access to additional SXM content
SXM users will need to make sure you have updated to the latest version of the SoundTouch app and that you are using the most recent firmware for your Bose speaker. You’ll need to add your SiriusXM account details again, even if you’ve connected in the past.
2/20 Update
Here is some helpful information for Airplay 2:
The only SoundTouch products that support Airplay 2 at this time are the ones listed above, regardless of the Bluetooth capabilities of the device.
If you are having issues using Airplay 2 with a Bose SoundTouch supported product:
Please make sure your devices meet the latest requirements from Apple foundhere. You’ll want to make sure your Airplay 2-compatible speakers are on and nearby, connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your device and are updated to the latest software version.
While we strive to continuously offer new software features and updates to make your speakers improve over time, certain older products simply do not have the hardware components to support these features. For your SoundTouch product(s) purchased before October 2015, it may be one of the devices built without the appropriate Apple authentication chip to support Airplay 2. If you have a speaker that supports AP2, have the update, tried the troubleshooting steps above andstill cannot connect to Airplay, please reach out to one of our customer representatives here and we’d be happy to assist further.
Yay! Cannot wait! Read of some customers who have the update already and say that it works great. Excited for my region to get the update. Thank you Bose!!!!!
It would also be great if there was a list posted of other devices in the works and devices that will never get the update. That way we know what to expect.
I also have a Lifestyle 535 and a wireless link adapter.
No update for the SA4 - I see, I continue to disappointed by Bose - Initially AirPlay support was really bad, they released the SA5 very quickly and promised support for SA4 - Promised support for Apple Music - Promised AirPlay 2 support on SA4, then waited nearly 2 years and it looks like Bose have choked again.
Glad to see Airplay finally rolling out on the SoundTouch platform. Sad to see SoundTouch Wi-Fi adaptors aren’t being included, despite being BlueTooth capable.
Fortunately with Airplay landing on so many platforms I can pick up Apple music streams via my Samsung TV which is Airplay enabled and connected to my Cinemate 130.
I am looking forward to running Airplay 2 through the paces on all my different devices and dropping some of the AirPort Adaptors.
I have a question. Here in Germany I've got the OTA 24.0.7. update for SoundTouch10.
But no airplay 2 support.
The guy on telephone at Bose checked the ST10 Serialnumber and told me, that even with the 24.0.7. update you have to wait until they do the roll out. Can that be true?
What do you think?
I don't believe this. I'm also in Germany and I downloaded the update files from the XML file that was posted in this thread. After I installed that firmware using the USB method on 2 x ST10 and 2 x ST20 they worked fine with Airplay2, so other than the firmware, there is no control by BOSE.
Just to double check, if you have the IP of one of your speakers, open this url in your browser and see if you have airplay as source listed:
I'm pretty sure there are also undocumented endpoints but I haven't invested into finding them. Maybe when you sniff the traffic between your speaker and the ST app with wireshark you can get hints to some more.
Updated my SoundTouch 10 (purchased Nov 2015) to v24.0.7 via OTA update today. AirPlay 2 not showing, rebooted/powered off everything router, ST10, iOS devices and no AirPlay show.
AirPlay is not showing up under http://ip:8090/sources either, so I guess I'll be calling Bose.

Bose should have said Manufactured and not "purchased". I do not believe Bose recalled all of their SoundTouch lines and replaced them all with updated ones in November 2015. With Christmas around the corner that wouldn't have made any sense.
So people who purchased SoundTouch systems in 2015 and possibly some even in early 2016 would have most likely purchased one that was manufactured before October 2015 (though I'm sure some would have lucked out).
If the latencies is the really problem cause Wireless Link Adapter can not support Airplay 2, Please release the firmware and let customer to decide USE airplay OR NOT.
