I am coming up with jamming music rehearsal room. Area is 480 sq feet and their will be 12 to 15 musicians will rehears the music. I am interested in Bose L1 Compact system but have couple of questions. Can I use 16 channel mixer to mix the sound for the output? Can it be useful for the 12 to 15 musicians? Their will be 2 vocals, 1 or 2 keyboards, electronic and acoustic drum set, lead guitar, base guitar and other Indian instruments which will use mic as and output. Please suggest the system which will be useful as per my requirement. The room will be soundproof with accoustic treatment. Thanks
Hi Technogeek,
I think this is a reasonable use for the L1 Compact. We rate it for up to 100 people listening and it will reproduce as large a mix as you want to play through it. Prerecorded music for example, can have many channels, 48 channels and far beyond and play through an L1 just fine.
Thanks,

Hi Matt,
thank a lot for the reply. Do you have any setup PDF file to understand about l1 compact connectoions with mixer system and do we need any video controller. Does the bass enoght for 500 sq Room.? Can we add 1 more sub to l1 compact system. '0
Hello,
To connect a mixer to the L1 Compact, the best option will be to use the L1 Compact's 1/4" input on Channel 2.
Here is a link to the Compact's owners guide
This article here has a general overview of the best practices: Connecting a mixer to an L1 system
Regarding bass: In general, I'd recommend using a dedicated bass amp rather than feeding the bass guitar through the L1 Compact. And in a room that size, you probably won't have to be concerned with mic'ing the bass drum either.
If you do want to run bass instruments through the system, then I'd say you're better off looking at the L1 Model 1S with a B2.
(You can connect a powered subwoofer to the L1 Compact, which has a full range, line-level output, but again, if bass is a concern, I'd go with the Model 1S with a B2)
Thank you!
