T1 and pre amp on channels 1-3, my new hook up

This is a new unit for me with a bose compact and a T1.  I want to use Tonematch on channel 1 with a Sm58 and  pre amp  to my Boss RC-30 to the mic feed. My guitar thru my Amplifi TT into channel two with acoustic and then again pre amp to the  Rc-30. I know I can still take my main output on the T1 to channel two on compact unit. I also use a double 1/4 to RCA's from RC -30 looper and bring that in on channel two also. I want the T1 to feed those wonderful sounds direct to looper.

I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on this, would you do the same?

The T1 Preamp Outputs are post-trim only. That means there's no T1 processing at the Preamp Outputs. (No ToneMatch Preset, zEQ, ParaEQ, Effects or Reverb).   If you are using any of the T1 processing - then the looped versions of your voice and guitar will sound different in the loops than the direct sound from the T1 Master Output to the L1 Compact.

I don't have an RC30 (nice unit) anymore, but when I did, I sent the T1 output (the full mix) to the RC30 and the output of the RC30 to the L1 Compact channel 2 with the ToneMatch switch set to Line Level.

Does that help?

compact/ T1 and a mackie ProFx4/ Boss Rc-30 looper and mice and guitars

Loving the tone from the T1 on the Mic and feed my guitar to a Amplifi TT in to channel 2 and connect to tablet. I still haven't added the looper to the equation and really don't want the Mackie in the layout. So, sitting here banging my head its been a long time for me setting up any pa's. Some ideas would be great, thanks

Hi Big Rick, two suggestions of different options follow.

First why don't you send your T1 channel 1 SM58 output (with Tonematch effects) direct to the looper using the AUX output, and then back in again on channel 4/5?

Put main selector to 'AUX', then 'CH Edit' for CH 1 set Level 50% (left twiddle) and 'Tap' Pre (centre twiddle knob). Mute CH 1 and/or set Vol knob to zero, and use Ch4/5 Volume for adjusting your Mic level in the mix. This would just loop your voice.

Outputs: Aux => Looper,  Master => Compact

OR if you want to mix your voice and guitar together before the looper you could be a bit counter-intuitive –

Use CH1 and CH2 to mix your mic and guitar as usual, send the Master output to the looper (as ST suggested earlier), bring this back in on, say CH 4/5 and only send that to the AUX output: which you then connect to your Bose Compact.

So on the AUX selector you make sure that CH1, CH2, CH3 are set to Level 'Mute', and then set CH 4/5 to Level 50%* and Tap 'Dry'. And this time Mute CH 4/5 and/or set Vol knob to zero.

Outputs: Master => Looper,  Aux => Compact

* you would be able to adjust the sound volume either here or on your Compact, not using T1 volume controls.

Be quite careful to avoid howl-round (when setting up) if you try the later option.

Following on from my earlier I have thought of a much better way to do this!

I have had a look at the RC-30 looper so see that it has two inputs & pedals. So presumably you'd like to send it both Vox & Guitar unmixed?!?

A Minor (or Major) change to my above reply - but a similar concept - is that you send your Mic (SM58) processed out of Aux 1, and your guitar out of Preamp 2 to the RC-30.

Output: Aux 1 => Looper Mic IN.

CH 2 Pre Out => Looper Instrument IN.

Output: Master => Compact

Then send your looper output back to T1 CH 4/5.  [Your Master OUT does go on to your Compact as you'd expect.]

RC-30 Looper => CH 4/5 IN.

The BIG plus point is that you can now adjust levels of everything on the T1; the T1 does the ToneMatch vocal processing, and your Amplifi TT the guitar processing. Now no channel mutes should be lit - just use the Looper provided mix and the T1 Vol knobs for each channel (Mic / Guitar / Looper).

BTW I would suggest you set the level of CH 1 for the AUX Out (to the Looper microphone input) at say 10% as a starting point - saves using a pad to get this feed down from Line to Mic level.

Give it a go ...  AU
