I'm setting up some basic recording from the T4S via USB using Audacity as the mixing/recording software.
I notice that the input level is low. I've maxed out the "recording volume" in Audacity and tried turning up the Master Output volume on the T4S, but this doesn't help.
I also looked to see if there is a way to increase the signal strength going from the T4S to the USB cable but I haven't seen anything yet.
Any suggestions on increasing the output level from the T4S?
Regardless of the USB interface I use (T1, T4S, T8S, Presonus, etc.) I have to raise the gain after the initial recording.
Let me test my understanding of what you mean. Once you record the stereo track, you use the gain slider, that is to the left of the track, to boost the gain of that track in the final exported MP3. Is that correct?
That gain control effects the recording and the monitor. So you'll 'hear' the level increase if and it will increase the recorded level.
I must be missing something. I tried recording with this gain maxed and it didn't appear to change the recording level at all. I just started using with Audacity a couple of days ago so I'm unfamiliar with all the controls.
Thanks for the info ST. I watched the videos and read a short bit of the article on Normalizing. I'll try the techniques described and report back once I've had a chance to fool around with it.
A friend came over today and we recorded a track from the T4S to my PC/Audacity.
When I play it back it goes to the PC speakers. I'd like to play it back through the T4. I even exported the file as an MP3 and played it with Windows Media Player which used to play through the T4 if it was turned on.
