Hello Dgmtexas,

Please go to this post in the forum:

https://community.bose.com/t5/Portable-PA/T1-Download-update-Problems-with-Apple-Catalina-OS/td-p/514325  and go to the second page.  The last two items in the discussion should hold your answer.

Does that help?

I appreciate your response, but I'm not running the Catalina OS, I'm using MacOS Big Sur, version 11.2.2

There's a link in the last post I referred to that takes you to an Apple support page for Big Sur:

Open a Mac app from an unidentified developer .

"To override your security settings and open the app [should be in your download folder] anyway follow these steps:

  1. In the Finder on your Mac, locate the app you want to open.
  2. Don’t use Launchpad to do this. Launchpad doesn’t allow you to access the shortcut menu.
  3. Control-click the app icon, then choose Open from the shortcut menu.
  4. Click Open.

The app is saved as an exception to your security settings, and you can open it in the future by double-clicking it just as you can any registered app."

Does that help?

I called and talked with Bose, and was told someone would work on this issue, and get back with me the next day, but nobody followed up. It would be great if Bose could anty up their support to match the price of their products.  This whold experience is been enlightening, while like the product, the developers should be trained, or better still, get new blood into the company.  Why make a product if you can't keep up with the new operating systems that will constantly be coming and changing.  There is no method to get my Mac OS Big Sur version 11.2.3 to work, because Bose has not updated the drivers and their manual is WAY OFF, really a strange deal

Hey Dgmtexas,

This occurs on Mac computers as the ToneMatch updater application is made by a third-party developer (i.e. not Apple). To open the application, please follow these steps:

  1. Double-click on the ToneMatch updater to open. When the error message pops up with the option to 'Move to Bin', click on 'Cancel'.
  2. Open System Preferences > Security and Privacy then go to the 'General' tab.
  3. Click the lock to make changes.
  4. Under the section 'Allow apps downloaded from...', click on the 'Open Anyway' button for the ToneMatch Updater application.

Hope this helps!

Hello

Thank you, but has anyone else tried this, and what is the name of the 3rd party app
