I'm stumped...
What are the settings to play music from a USB?
- Is this suppose to be plug n play?
There isn't anything in the manual. That I could find...
Thanks!!!!

Hello again Keri5374,
Thanks for the picture -- that helps us know how you have things plugged in!
Yes, the manual is lacking -- using a flash drive is not exactly plug and play. I've always played my music from a computer cabled to the USB-B port, so I had to do some testing with a compatible flash drive.
First of all, check this page in the Bose Professional Portable PA Encyclopedia, which provides a list of tested USB flash drives, as well as some additional instructions. Note that the T4s will only play MP3 or WAV files.
Spin your selector knob to "Prefs", and rotate the menu knob to "USB from PC". Make a note of the settings: By default, Left and Right are both set to "Master". This means that any music on your flash drive (or music from a computer connected by USB) will go straight to the Master out, with no opportunity to change the ToneMatch setting, EQ, reverb, etc. You'll only be able to control the volume.
If you'd like to add more control over the playback, you can use the knobs below the screen to route both Left and Right to "Channel 4". Then you'll be able to use Channel 4's "CH EDIT" button to make changes to ToneMatch settings, EQ, reverb, etc. (NOTE: For users with two systems, you could route the "Left" to "Channel 3" and "Right" to "Channel 4", then use the PAN/AUX menu to pan Channel 3 fully left and Channel 4 fully right. You would have independent full control of both signals.)
To play the music from your flash drive, turn the "Menu" to "USB A Playback". If the T4s has read your flash drive properly, you should see a "folder" with "System Volume Information", and then a list of your tracks. Rotate the knob under the "Select" to pick a song; then press the knob to start playing it. Now, it will play that song, and every song after it, until you press the "Select" knob again to pause it, or until it plays the entire list. It plays the list in alphabetic order, so if you want them in a specific order, you'll have to rename your songs, leading with "01", "02", "03", etc. If you ever need to change the order, you'll have to rename them on a computer.
That should get you going. Personally, I use a USB-connected laptop for my music because it's easier for me to edit and rearrange playlists. The USB flash drive method is handy for break music since it would be just background tunes.
Does that help?
SCORE! Thank you again... I found the settings you provided with ease:)
I would have never found this without spending a lot of time playing around. And perhaps that is exactly what I need to do. Without your help I may have returned this item already. For professionals this may be very easy to figure out however for those buying for personal use it's a bit more challenging. My guess is many of those folks wouldn't use a forum like this and end up returning simply because these functions aren't explained in a manual. 😞
Thanks again!!!
