T8S for record a live session

Hi.
It's me again with other unwise question.
This time is about how can I get the best option to record a Live session through my T8S?

This is the scenario:
Tracks are running in my laptop and this is connected to the T8S Connection Panel through an USB Type B.
Vocalist use a Dynamic Microphone in Channel 1, previously configured with FX, Rev and customized EQ.

The ideal sound is in the air, heard through a L1 II.
My Question is.... How can I get that same sound to record in my Zoom R16 Recorder?
The Headphone Jack could work for this purpose?
Or I need to use Aux Output?

I would like to get a record that conserve all FX in the voice, 'cause this will have not post-edition or mix.

Thank You guys.

Hi, Miguel.

It looks like you have lots of options.

  • If you use the built-in microphones in the Zoom 16 you can get the ideal sound in the air.
  • It looks like you could also record two more channels (same show) from the headphone jack,
    AND/OR
  • Get a mono mix with full effects from the Aux output.

It looks like you could get both live mics and direct signals from the T8S and then you can get two versions of the show, and if you like, you could mix in a little of the live show with direct later.

It depends on why you are recording and what you'll do with the recording later.

Have fun with it.

Thank You for your super fast answer.

Only as general knowledge... What if I use the Headphones Jack in my T8S connected directly to one channel in my R16? Could this way works to get a clean record and avoid ambiental noise?

The T8S headphone output is stereo.

Looking at the Zoom R16 page, all the inputs are mono.

Normally, you would use a cable like this.

  • The black plug goes to the T8S Headphone Output.
  • The grey plug goes to one Zoom R16 channel.
  • The red plug goes to another Zoom R16 channel.

OR

  • On the T8S - pan all your inputs hard RIGHT
  • Connect the T8S - right output to your L1 Model II
  • Connect the cable in the picture like this.
    • The black plug goes to the T8S Headphone Output.
    • The red plug goes to one Zoom R16 channel.

All good?
