The L1 compact is not a drink table. The L1 compact is not a drink table. The L1 compact is not a drink table.
Working around drunk people there is always a chance that people will use your equipment as a table for drinks or someone will splash a drink on your equipment.
A conventional speaker is on a tripod stand, raised off the floor from spills whereas the L1 has all of the electronics at the base.
Last night I anticipated this and placed a rag on top of my compacts in case of a accident.
However, this didn’t stop a girl from asking if she could place her drink down on the speaker. i said noooooooooo!
Anyone got a fool proof way of preventing accidental spills/splashes? Ideally a water resistant cloth for the base of the L1’s that doesn’t interfere with the sound would be perfect.
too bad the process is more than the bose money wise

Wow! The drunks sure are polite in your part of the world!! Here they don't ask.
The Compact isn’t even flat on top. You have to be really drunk or stupid to try to set your drink on it.
Never had someone set a drink on my compact but they do it often on mu Model 1’s,especially, when I elevate the power stand to cocktail table height. The height of a B1 (my usual set up) is about half that and the problem is less but some fools occasionally still think it’s a drink table.
Richard Mills had some great covers made for his Model 1’s which protect them from spills.
