Tone match TS8 reverb problems

Hi

I am aware this issue was discussed last year , however since just purchasing a TS8 after have in a TS4 for a few years , I am having trouble getting the same sparkle from the reverb settings on the 8 as I did on the 4 can anyone offer any suggestions ?

I would rather not have to connect my T4 to the T8 just to get a good vocal sound . Any ideas ?

 Thank you in advance

i completely agree,  the T8s is outstanding with our instruments ( guitar, banjo, mandolin)

but vocals & vocal effects its difficult to get a great warm vocal sound.

I recently have got a new bose l1 pro8 this sounds great,  I plugged my Beta 87a phantom powered mic in direct and straight away excellent, warm reverb and easy used,  then when I plugged the T8s Desk in its just not as good,    I wonder can Bose try and replicate the Reverbs & Eq's on the new L1 pro systems with a firmware update for the T8s & T4s.

Hello Louj,

Congratulations on your new T8s.  Have you checked its firmware version?  The latest is v1.1.4.  (The same version is used for both the T4s and T8s.)  To check your version, check this link.  The link also includes a link to instructions for downloading the installer for the updater software, the v1.1.4 firmware (.bos) file, and how to use the updater to install the firmware file.  Note:  You should install the updater first, then copy or move the .bos file into the same folder where the updater was installed, then run the updater.

Also note:  If you are using a Mac to do the updating, some newer Mac operating systems will probably throw up a security warning for the updater software.  It's a warning, not an error.  (The Mac's "Gatekeeper" software protects users from installing applications of "non-Apple identified developers", i.e., Bose.)  That's explained, along with instructions to allow the installation, are here.

There's a chance your T4s was already updated with the new firmware, and your T8s is actually older and sat on a shelf and was never updated.  That might account for a difference in reverb sound.

Does that help?

hi
thank you for your reply regarding the TS8 update

as I am a total techno phobe I wouldn’t be confident at updating the TS8 knowing me I would probably wipe it clean 🙈but the vocal pedal has really helped had a gig last weekend and the results were superb and from the audience so think with all Bose info and help and advice it seems to be positive . I have noticed many many comments on the lack of warm reverb on the TS8 but apart from that it is great and glad I bought it 😊

Hi Louj,

Thanks for stopping back to let us know.  I understand being uncomfortable with computer updates.  While I've been an IT professional for a number of years, I realize that not everyone is completely tech-savvy (ask my wife and mother-in-law!)

You might check with a local computer dealer, or the retailer where you purchased your Bose equipment to see if they can perform the update for you.  The newer firmware provides other benefits besides the reverb issue.  The procedure is fairly straightforward, and only requires a relatively newer PC, a USB "A-B" cable (similar to those used for a printer), and internet access to download the instructions, the installer, and the firmware file.  I'm reminded of the statement "so easy a 10-year-old can do it", but you can never find a 10-year-old when you need one!  😁

Hi

thank you for your reply regarding the update on T8 . I will give it a go . I have to say though the vocal pedal has done wonders for the compression , and reverb sound .

otherwise it’s finding the elusive 10 year old tec wiz kid 😂
