Tonematch Keyboard presets

Hello,

First let me say I am a VERY happy owner of a Tonematch and F1 systems.  I am a gigging musician and use mainly acoustic guitar and vocals through the setup and I can't say enough positive things about both.  Been using successfully for about 5 years.

I am however not loving the keyboard presets for key sounds....  All of them, Clavinet, Fender Rhodes, wurlitzer etc sound dull and flat to me.. and not anything like a clavinet or rhodes, wurlitzer....  like not at all....

I tried adjusting eq's but I guess I was just expecting a closer representation from the get go.  I have found many other presets for vocals and guitar very useful.

Anyone else finding this, and/or am I missing something with my preset key sounds.  Right out of the box, the preset key sounds are very lacking to me.  Just seeing if this was found by others or if I am missing something..

BTW i really like the way it sounds straight in, clean sound, is very nice for the keyboard.

Hi Adam,

The presets on this system are more of what I call a 'blueprint EQ'. This means they're intended to allow the instrument or mic to sound natural (relatively flat) on our L1 systems, so that you can make additional EQ and external changes without having unexpected boosts/drops to certain 'unwanted' frequencies. You could call it a pre-EQ.

I take it you've used a Clav, Rhodes or Wurlitzer on this system? Otherwise, I don't usually recommend using those presets, especially if you're using a synthesizer or any kind of modeling.

Thanks,

Chris J
