I was running some backing tracks thru my L1 via my laptop when one of the tracks suddenly stopped and the music was replaced by a sudden continuous loud high-pitched tone coming from the system. Turning off and unplugging the laptop didnt stop it and I plugged in a mic which was working but completely overidden by the tone. Only when I turned off the Tonematch and "rebooted" it did the sound stop and now it
s fine but of course there`s always the concern that it might happen again, especially right in the middle of a gig! Does this seem like a Tonematch defect: has anyone else encountered a similar issue? all advice would REALLY be welcome, thanks!
Hi zatoichi,
Sorry that you had this problem.
This doesn’t sound like a T1® defect to me. It does sound like something that happens every now and again when I use a computer and an audio device.
The first thing I would do in a situation like this… and I’m pretty sure that it has happened at least once with my T1®, is just turn off the T1® (just to make the high-pitched tone stop). Then I’d reboot the computer and restart everything that takes power just to make sure that I had a fresh start with everything.
If you get this high-pitched tone again then I’d call L1® Support, but if it doesn’t happen repeatedly, I’d take it as one of those things that happen when you run audio from a computer.
But if you are still concerned, call L1® Support. There are great people there, and the call is free.

Thanks ST, sound advice as always, if you`ll pardon the pun :]
Hi zatoichi
I dont know what type files you were using but I have had that problem with midi file if you happen to stop it in the middle of a song and one of the notes keeps playing until you shut it donwn.
Hope this helps Todd
Thanks for the input Todd! this was just your basic MP3 via Winamp and the track just stopped halfway through to be replaced by the aforementioned high-pitched continuous tone. Even when I turned off/disconnected my laptop from the Tonematch, it kept doing it until I shut it down. After starting it up again, I ran everything for 30 mins or so and it seemed fine so, hopefully, it`s as ST said…an audio/computer thing and maybe just a temporal anomaly in the warp field :]
