I am playing at a venue where there is a bar area along with a restaurant section. I play in the bar area which is separated from the dining room by a short wall that has glass running up to the ceiling. I have an L1 Classic and an L1 Model 1 along with a Tonematch. I would like to use a system in each room so the dining room could hear me. If I wanted to utilize both systems how would I wire them together?
Hi Kraftyron,
This should be pretty easy.
Assuming that you connect the T1® to the Classic Channel 1, then on the Classic there is a Channel 1 Line Out (XLR).
You can use microphone cable to connect the Classic Channel 1 Line Out to the Model I Channel 1.
On the Model I, you will probably need to turn down the Channel I trim because the signal coming out of the Classic is quite hot.
We have some notes about that here: Classic Daisy Chain
There’s another approach where you could connect the T1 Aux output to the L1 that’s on the other side of the wall, but the Aux output does not support reverb. So it’s probably simpler to connect the way I described things above.
If you want to try the T1 Aux approach, here are some notes.

PS
In the notes about daisy chaining it mentions using a pad.
If you connect Classic to Model I, you probably don’t need the pad.
Does that help?

I have an IMP Pad 2 so I’ll try it both ways, with and without. Thx.
Hi kraftyron,
Please let us know how that all works out for you.
Thanks!

I normally connect my Tonematch to channel 3 or 4 when using just one L1 and set the gain to 4 on the L1. Now I will be connecting the Tonematch to channel 1 on the Classic and then running that output to the L1 Model 1’s #1 input. So what is a good gain setting for channel 1 of my Classic ?
Hi kraftyron,
T1 to Classic
On the Classic, you are probably going to be fine with setting the Channel 1 Trim at 4 (same as you did on Channel 3 or 4).
On the Model I
The setting will be different depending on whether or not you use a pad. If you use a pad, then you may have to set the trim setting higher.
Basically - you can set it by ear as long as the Signal/Trim light is not solid red. Red flickers are okay.
Does that help?
