Unable to send a rs232

Hi guys,

I’ve trying to control a NEC projector using the Rs232 port of one EX-1280C without success.

I verified the cable and the protocol and the projector configuration. Everything is correct from that side.

Also I tested a Christie projector just to verify and this works.

i am attaching a picture. The first command is the Christie command and it works. The next commands are the Different ways I have tested the NEC commands without success.

the interesting thing here is that if I sent the rs232 commands using the Hercules software using my computer, the NEC projector responds.

Any suggestions what is happening here?

this is the NEC Protocol:

Hello Gustavo,

Did you try to monitor the serial output of the EX-1280C, to see what the EX-1280C serial port is sending?

I just tested the following:
POWER ON: \02\00\00\00\00\02
RECEIVED: <02><00><00><00><00><02>
So that looks good.

Could it be that the RS232 port settings on the projector is not set as the same as the EX-1280C?

Hi,

Also check the baud rate as well, otherwise it will not talk to each other.

Cheers!

Hi Berd,
Thank you for replying also.

It turned out to be a beta version of the EX-1280C Gustavo is using.
He tested with an ESP-880 and the communication worked fine.
