On Saturday, February 9th, 2019, a new iOS update (Version 1.7.2) for the Bose Sleep App was made available in the Apple App Store. The update was released to maintain compliance with Apple’s updated privacy guidelines. There are no user-facing changes and no plans for a similar release on Android at this time.

Starting on Wednesday, December 19th, 2018, a new update for the Bose Sleep App (1.7.1) is available through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. Please note that this is a staggered release that will be rolled out to users over a 7-day period.

Starting on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018, a new update for the Bose Sleep App (1.7.0) is available through the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store. This will be a staged release being deployed over a 7-day period.
This release primarily introduces Phone-Free Mode.

- New Phone-Free Mode feature: In Phone-Free Mode, your pre-selected sleep sound will play as soon as the buds are removed from the charging case, no app required. Note: wake up alarms are disabled while using Phone-Free Mode
- This feature requires a Sleepbuds firmware update(6.0.4) via the home screen notification

About Phone-Free Mode:
Sleep hygiene best practices tell us to avoid the blue light from our phones before bedtime.
With the new Phone-Free Mode enabled, Bose noise-masking sleepbuds begin playing your preset sleep sound as soon as they are removed from the charging case, eliminating the need to look at the Bose Sleep App before you sleep.
Alarms set in the app are disabled while in Phone-Free Mode. Note that both the Sleep App and the Sleepbud firmware must be updated to enable this feature.
