  • General bug fixes

how can I update the firmware .I can not find any update bottom in bose music app(4.0.1).

My iOS app (version 13.7 and no other updates available) has been stuck for about 4 hours with the message 'Almost finished. We're installing an update on (our Bose Soundbar 500).  This should only take a few minutes'.  Our soundbar remote is not working and the 6 mode buttons (music, tv, etc.) are flashing.  I've tried removing and re-downloading the app.  I've tried unplugging and restarting the Soundbar.  Everything is just stuck and won't update.

*** Update: my iOS app finally completed the update overnight.  Was it supposed to take so long? We ended up having to reconnect our remote.  Fortunately my husband doesn't have auto-updates for his phone, so he is still on the earlier version of iOS and didn't receive the Bose app update yet and was able to reconnect the remote.

I have got the same problem with my Homespeaker 500

Having the same issue with mine too.

Updated!!!

This update appears to have bricked my sound bar 700 as It’s just on a solid red LED light. Was working fine, leave overnight and I discover that this update happened and didn’t install properly by the looks of it.

Is there a way to try and re-install an update?

had the same problems updating yesterday.

only fix for me was hard resetting the device, removing the soundbar from the app and then it correctly installed the update.

you will only lose all your soundsettings in the process....

i wonder how this got through any testing at all.....

pps: how do you quote someone on this forumsoftware?

Thanks for the suggestion, I’ve tried that and I now just get a red LED on the left for the microphone and a sweeping white LED light. I can’t find the soundbar in the app since I removed it too.

So just to confirm a hard reset is 30 seconds pull plug and re-connect.

For my soundbar 500 the procedure for a hard reset simultaneously press power button and fast forward button on the standard remote

use only if no other option is viable at that moment. Although my iOS app said it was updating it was practically doing nothing of that sort.
