I run open mics (more like jam sessions, nothing planned, musicians will come up to stage and just jump in and join the others. I while the venue is small < 100 people, I figured its better to have 2 compacts rather than 1 1S. (call me silly, but used to having speakers on each side of the room. From what I understand, its a great idea to not have the same sound on both speaker, so with about 6 mics, 6 guitar inputs, keyboard and an occasional other instrument, all set up on my Line 6 M20D mixer, my question is, should I have some of the inputs panned left and some panned right so I will not have the same sound coming out of both. Does this make sense? Am I doing anything wrong? (I figure, since using a mixer, if I find I ever need serious low end, can send the bass and other low freqs. out of an aux out and get a big, heavy (ouch!) sub to schlep along with me.
Thanks

Hi gwampa Bruce,
Thank you for joining the Forum.
It sounds like you’re having fun, and that you’ve got a handle on how to use your Compacts well in this application.
Basically:
- If you use a mixer, each input should be panned all the way to the Left of the Right. (nothing panned up the middle or anywhere in between).
- You want to ensure that each sound source is heard through only one L1®, the closest one.
