Hey,
We currently have 2 model 1 L1 systems. For most gigs we play, we place the L1s behind the band but occasionally, for whatever reason (space limitations etc) we have to place them in front of the band.
When this happens, we obviously loose the advantage of hearing that the crowd is hearing.
What would be the easiest way to hook up floor wedge monitors to L1s? Can I use a passive monitor or does it have to be active?
Thanks 🙂

Let's start with defining a monitor system. You will need active monitors or a power amplifier and passive monitors. Active monitors are more convenient. The Bose S1 Pro (likely two of them) could work for you depending on how loud your stage is.

You could also use one or two L1® Compacts (they are louder).
Are you using a mixer? If so, you may be able to take a line out (often marked MON or AUX) from the mixer to a monitor system.
If you are connecting your sound sources directly to the L1® Model I power stands, ... there is no single combined output from the power stand that includes sound from all the inputs. There are individual LINEs OUT for channels 1 and 2.
You can connect the red/yellow line to a monitor system. If you use both channels 1 and 2, you will need two connections, one from the LINE OUT for both channels.
There are two XLR inputs available on the S1 Pro, so this could work. The L1® Compact has one XLR and one 1/4 inch input.
If you are also using channels 3 and 4 - this is a challenge because there are no line outs for those channels.
That's a start. Questions?

Thanks ST.
We're using the L1s more like a traditional PA but placed behind the band. But for this example, we'd be placing them out front.
So we're running everything into a Behringer XR18 desk and then out to the L1s. We either use input 1 or 3 on the L1s.
So if i were to run the desk output to input 1 on the L1s, i'd still need active monitors for the "line out" outputs?
