My headset is at 1.3.1 currently. When I tried to update my NC700 to the newest firmware, it said 1.3.1 is up to date. So I called the CS and was told the 1.5.1 can only be updated from 1.4.12 and 1.3.1 can't be update to 1.4.12 now. So it is all intended that my headset doesn't have EQ control. And the engineering team currently doesn't have a timeline to address this issue.
(It's sad to see Bose lagging behind this much in premium NC headset competition now)
That's because they've pulled the update as it has pretty much bricked everybody's NC700 headphones. There are lots of threads about the impact of the update in this forum if you look. Be thankful you can't update...
Wow! I just went through the other posts. It looks like this circus has been going on since May. Two months since then, I havent found any response from Bose with an ETA. Seems very irresponsible.
There goes my first Bose purchase experience. Now, Im wondering if I should return it. The stuttering issue is very annoying.
I can imagine things have been quite frustrating in the sense of trying to update your product. As stated in the "Noise Cancelling 700 Firmware Update - 1.4.12 - May 12th 2020 ***UPDATED JULY 30, 2020***" thread, there was a pause made to the 1.14.12 firmware due to a small minority of users encountering issues. We simply took this step to ensure we could look over the firmware and ensure we're releasing the absolute best for our users.
Please keep up to date with the thread to read into more about where things go from here and the status of future firmware updates.
Thanks ... I understand that there will be bugs and sometimes things happen that are unforeseen. Regular updates in that thread would be very reassuring. I'll hang on to my headphone and wait till your team has a fix coming in.
